Supersize your super.

Sure, you can set and forget about super until you stop work.  But if you’re looking to maximise your retirement cash, you may want to think about supersizing.

Consolidate, rollover and hit the super jackpot.

If you’ve had more than one job in your life, chances are you’ve got more than one superannuation account lurking about.  Remember, it’s your money, so don’t let high fees and other charges fritter it away by keeping it in loads of different places.

Virgin Super can help you consolidate your super.

Make your own super contributions.

Time to state the bleeding obvious.  Every penny that goes in means your super gets bigger.  And the bigger your super is, the more cash you can blow when you retire on golf gear, long lunches and life’s little expenses.  Try one less trashy mag a week or a cease-fire on the caffeine purchases, and throw it into your super instead.

Did you know?

  • You can pop some cash in your super account via salary sacrifice – which in other words means ‘ pre-tax’ dollars?
  • Or that some lucky folk will have their voluntary contributions – post-tax dollars – matched by the Federal Government?
  • Or that your other half may be able to add to your super, which for some could spell ‘tax refunds’?
  • If we don't have your TFN we won't be able to process your personal contributions. Check out our Better Super - TFN Fact Sheet for more info.

Think carefully about your super investments.

How super funds work is that member dollars are invested in asset classes like shares, property and cash.  Important to remember is that with all investment choices come different levels of risk - the riskier your choices, the more chance you’ve got of nabbing greater returns in the long run, and losses over the short term.

With Virgin Super, you can do two things:  have your dollars invested by Macquarie Funds Management in a pre-determined mix of asset classes based on your age or attitude to risk; or do it yourself with Select Your Own.
